Used for the treatment of infections caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa and also infections due to other suceptible bacteria. It has beed used particularly in immunocompromised patients (neutropic patients) and for biliary infections (cholangitis). Used also for uncomplicated gonorrhoea due to penicillin in sensitive gonococci and urinary tract infections. It has also been used for surgical infection prophylaxis.
